🚨 0DTE Data Controls the Open?🚨
Alex Reid’s overnight setup doesn’t rely on the news. Instead, he’s showing Lance Ippolito at 1:30 PM ET today how Night Riders uses 0DTE data to predict the next morning’s open for a potential cash opportunity. Sometimes the signal is loud and clear, but the entry still makes you cringe.
That’s exactly what happened when I stepped into Palantir (PLTR) with longer-dated options.
The setup had everything I looked for: heavy call flow showing up on the Alpha Flow Dashboard and President Donald Trump publicly praising the company, similar to what happened with Intel (INTC) before that stock rallied.
The thesis was straightforward. The timing was not.
I entered before a pullback and immediately found myself sitting through weakness. It wasn’t a disaster, but it was a reminder that even when the story is right, execution still matters.
What I Saw — And Why I Moved
When you see significant call flow and a major public endorsement happening at the same time, it’s difficult to ignore.
The combination suggested institutional interest was already building and retail attention could soon follow. That’s the type of setup that can move a stock quickly.
So I took the trade.
The problem is that I bought into strength instead of waiting for a better opportunity. The stock pulled back shortly after, creating a much cleaner entry than the one I took. That’s the kind of mistake every trader makes at some point.
The reason I’m not rushing to make changes is simple: I gave the trade time.
By choosing longer-dated options instead of short-term contracts, I created room for the thesis to play out. A trade can survive being early when there’s enough time left on the clock.
This isn’t just about PLTR. Longer-dated calls can create synthetic stock exposure while reducing the pressure that comes with trying to be perfectly precise on timing.
I still believe the core story remains intact. Government contracts, AI enthusiasm, and strong investor interest don’t disappear because of a sharp multi-day sector pullback.
What I’d Do Differently
Looking back, I would have approached the entry differently.
- Start with a smaller position.
- Wait for a pullback or confirmation level.
- Add only as the thesis continues to prove itself.
- Scale into strength instead of chasing momentum.
That’s often the hardest part of trading. When the catalyst is obvious, the urge to act immediately becomes overwhelming.
But news-driven moves can be deceptive. The first reaction often exhausts itself quickly, creating better opportunities after the initial excitement fades.
The lesson isn’t that the trade was wrong.
The lesson is that timing still matters, even when the setup looks obvious.
When the thesis is strong but the stock is extended, patience usually beats urgency. Longer-dated options can help absorb imperfect timing, but they don’t eliminate the value of waiting for a better entry.
Sometimes the best trade isn’t the one you take immediately.
It’s the one you wait for.
To better trading,
Alex Reid

P.S. My Overnight Setup Is Completely Different From Lance’s
Lance Ippolito is no newbie to overnight trading.
In fact, he’s got one of the most effective ways to play the news for worthwhile cash opportunities.
However, what we do here with Night Riders has nothing to do with the news.
Instead, we use 0DTE data to predict the next open and then play the prediction for a shot at cash.
This is what I’ll be explaining to Lance at 1:30 PM ET today.

We’ll cover:
- Why 0DTE data holds clues about the next market open
- How we turn that information into actionable trade ideas &
- How you can join the next overnight opportunity
No trading guarantees, of course, but I’m super excited to show him the ropes on this setup.
