4 Space Stocks I’m Loading Before the SpaceX IPO Hits

The market is facing a triple threat: surging energy costs, stalling growth, and a geopolitical powder keg. With oil crossing the critical $99 mark and GDP hanging by a thread, the margin for error has disappeared [tap to join us for Profit Panel]

While everyone is chasing the latest AI move or trying to guess the next Fed decision, I’ve been watching something else quietly build momentum — space stocks.

This isn’t just hype, it’s a sector with real catalysts, real leadership, and plenty of room to run.

One catalyst stands out: SpaceX has reportedly filed confidentially for an IPO. Moves like that don’t just grab headlines — they redirect attention fast and force the market to reprice the entire space.

The Early Leaders Are Already Showing Strength

Right now, AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) and Rocket Lab (RKLB) are leading the group. ASTS has already made a strong move, while RKLB continues grinding higher even with broader market noise.

These aren’t random spikes. Both companies have more established revenue streams, which tends to matter when a sector starts gaining traction. Leaders lead first, and that’s exactly what we’re seeing.

What I like here is the structure. Both are still trading within clean channels going back to January, which gives them room to expand if momentum really builds.

My 4 Core Space Picks

I’m not throwing a dozen tickers at you and hoping something sticks. I’ve narrowed this down to four names that I think offer the best opportunity.

First are ASTS and RKLB, the clear leaders with strong narratives and positioning. If space becomes a dominant theme in 2026, these are the names likely to pull everything else higher.

Next is Redwire (RDW), which operates as a supplier across the industry. That means they benefit regardless of which companies win contracts, and we’ve already seen how explosive the stock can be with a recent near-50% move.

Rounding it out is Planet Labs (PL), which brings a different angle with its satellite imaging network. It’s widely used, grounded in real demand, and gives the sector a broader foundation beyond pure speculation.

Why This Setup Stands Out

One of the biggest advantages here is pricing. Many of these names are still relatively affordable and have solid options chains, which makes them tradable without the capital demands you see in large-cap tech.

The volatility in this space isn’t a risk — it’s the opportunity. When you combine sharp moves with a developing narrative and a major catalyst like a potential IPO, you get a setup where both pullbacks and breakouts can be actionable.

If space becomes the story in 2026, the leaders will move first and the rest will follow. That’s how capital flows through sectors, and it rewards traders who position early instead of chasing later.

For me, the watchlist is set: ASTS, RKLB, RDW, and PL. I’m not waiting for headlines to confirm it — I’d rather be early while the setup is still forming.
